Long time no post!  Seriously!  It’s been way too long.  Over the last couple of weeks I’ve had the pleasure of shooting Lindsey and Cris’ maternity session, and a week and a half later I got to meet their little bundle of joy and shoot her newborn session!

I recently held my annual facebook contest, and the “W” family won!  They were such a joy to work with, and all of them had beautiful eyes!  Don’t take my word for it, check them out for yourself!

I’m so horrible at blogging…I always promise myself I’ll keep up with it, but I never do.   I don’t know if you remember Jennifer and Stella, but they’re one of my favorite families!  Sophia is the sweet little one we’ve all been waiting anxiously for…here is her first photoshoot!  She was under a week old.

I love Jennifer, and her family.  I can’t wait for her to have her second little one.  That’s really all I have to say.  Look at pictures! <3

Okay, so maybe it wasn’t much of a “destination” or “Far from home” for them, but my husband and I did get to drive through Arkansas and Missouri!  William and Suzanne’s wedding was in St. Louis, it was beautiful and an absolute blast.

I’ve gotten so behind in blog posts, it’s been almost three months since I’ve updated!  Bad Amber.  I’m going to be posting some catch-up posts tonight, so keep your eyes peeled for:

I was so excited to reach 700 “likes” on my facebook fan page!  So, in celebration, I’m announcing a contest!!

The contest:

1. Do you fancy yourself an amateur photographer?  Or do you just enjoy snapping photos?  Me too!  Send them to me, your favorite, your personal best, your most artistic, unique, whimsical photo!
2. send ONE favorite photo to my email amber@amberrhodeslapoint.com, the photos will be posted in a special album on my Facebook, and on my blog for poll voting.  So your friends and family can vote double for your image!  You can vote one time per day on the blog.  You can vote twice on facebook, either by leaving a comment with the phrase “Amateur? What!  My vote is for this one!” or by pressing the “like” button.  Both votes count one time per photo.
3. if you are not yet a fan, become a fan of Amber Rhodes-Lapoint Photography on facebook.
4. send people (family, friends, colleagues, ex-classmates) “like” Amber Rhodes-Lapoint Photography and to vote for their favorite photo (which would be yours, of course!) on facebook and on the blog!!
5. now you must go through and “like” all vendors on facebook. (Vendors will be listed below)

The winner will be announced on Thursday, May 19 based on the total number of votes entered for each image. Votes are counted as individual comments under each photo, clicking “like” on the photo you wish to vote, and voting on the blog. Voting people must “like” mine and all vendors pages, votes from people who are not fans won’t be counted.

And inevitably the rules:

1. entries must be submitted by Wednesday, May 11.
2. one entry per person
3. voting will start on Thursday, May 12 and will end on Thursday, May 19
4. On the blog: One vote per person, per day.  On facebook: Two votes per person total.
5. comments under a photo count as votes, clicking the “like” button counts as a vote.
6. you may vote for your own image
7. submitted images can be of anything. (No nudity, offensive gestures, etc.)
8. photos taken by professional photographers will not be accepted
9. Professional photographers can not enter
10. You must have permission to use the image (so, it HAS to be taken by you and of something you have permission to photograph).
11. You must give me permission to repost the image on facebook and on my blog.
12. You must be in (or near) West TN and be willing to travel to the area for the prize(s).
13. In order to be eligible to win ALL prizes, you must “like” all vendors on facebook.

The winner will receive a complimentary portrait session with me and a CD with high resolution images (value of $548.75).  The session must take place before July 1 and must take place in the Memphis Metro area.
