Trina and Scott are perfect for each other. The way they laugh together, and the way they look at each other; you can tell it’s destiny! We had SO much fun shooting their engagement session! I had a hard time narrowing it down for some of my favorite shots!
I am so excited for their wedding in January, it’ll be here before we know it!

This is their story:
Oh where to begin…. As a student in their college years you begin to dream of that life that used to be far away, but now it is in reach. Often Trina and her girlfriends sat around and talked about their futures with much emphasis on who will help mold it. Trina described her future love as a musician with good hair. To her surprise a recently made friend Lindsey knew just the guy for her. She happened to know a musician with good hair who just happened to be a great guy. As many of you know the easiest way to communicate in college is facebook. Being the bold girl she is, she sent him a request to be her friend. The greatest foundation to a lasting relationship. After accepting her as his friend he asked a simple question: “Do I know you?” This one question began a long lasting conversation that created a strong desire in each of them to meet.
After a month of communication, their first meeting took place. Scott had planned a night out with his friends Sarah and Jeremy. This was really comfortable for Trina…just kidding. Their friendship grew over the next few weeks. They decided to go on a “real” first date. Scott, being the gentlemen he is, chose to see “Across the Universe” and to eat at Arby’s . This just happen to be Trina’s least favorite place to eat. After many written songs about the girl Scott had now fallen in love with, he decided that it was time to get his “love locked down”.
After much thought he planned a winter proposal at the home church building his dad preaches at. When Trina showed up at his house, Scott’s dad asked if they would both go get ice from the building for a dinner they were planning. To Trina’s surprise, she walked in a lit up gym with a table set for two. They sat down to eat a dinner prepared by Scott which seemed to be a nice Christmas surprise. After the meal, he then asked, “Would you like your present early?” The impatient person Trina is replied, “Well yeah.” Scott handed Trina a small black journal. This small journal was a hand-drawn storybook of their relationship (she always liked for Scott to tell her stories). She then began to read the story aloud. It went through all the many things the two were able to experience over their year together. The very last page was a cut out including two things: a beautiful diamond ring and the words, “BAM! Diamonds!” Trina, having been brought to tears, said yes to Scott.
Scott knew that he was in love with Trina when he finally figured out that she would accept him for who he is —flaws and all. He’s in love with her because he can never stay mad at her (even if he want to be). She is the only woman that has ever made Scott push myself…both intellectually and mentally. Seeing her smile is something that can totally change his attitude. She brings him surprises even if he hasn’t been easy to deal with. She talks a lot and he likes it that way.
I know that I can spend the rest of my life with her because of her sense of humor. Like the time she curtsied to a complete stranger and said “How do you do?” Or the time she reached over and honked the horn when I was driving and the lady crossing the street thought it was me.
She found a dragon dagger and bought it for him. She took Scott to Graceland and gave him the best birthday ever. She kisses his head when it hurts. She tells Scott when I’m wrong. She helps keep his eyes focused on what is really important—God.
All in all, she is the perfect woman. He would be a fool if he wasn’t in love with her. In his opinion he is a pretty lucky guy.
Trina knew that she was in love with Scott pretty much from the beginning. She found things in Scott that she had never seen in any other man. Scott was both patient and kind whenever it came to Trina’s stubborn ways. She knew that she could be with him forever whenever she realized she was much happier being wrapped in his arms, eating Taco Bell, or watching a funny movie, than she would be anywhere else. Scott has never once made fun of her for any of her many idiosyncrasies (her fear of ketchup, the fact that she is a clean freak, or her love for puppies.)
Scott has the most laid back personality. He goes out of his way to make sure she is the happiest person in the world. He does everything in his power to make sure that she never stresses or is sad. He truly is the one for her.
Scott continues to amaze Trina daily. Whether it be from his love of toys or his ability to relate to almost any kid. He truly has been the biggest blessing in her life. She can’t wait to marry him and become Mrs. Utter (Yes…a funny, yet awesome name.)
