I’m a part of a photography group in Jackson, TN called “no white shirts, please” (lol) and we met up for a session with models and did a trash the dress session. We met up at Lake Graham in Jackson, and had a lot of fun. Cassie and Will were too funny together, and yes they’re a real couple. Cassie is a model, singer and actress..and obviously she’s GORGEOUS!

Hey everyone!

As many of you know, today is the last day of my contest!  I had a lot of hits, but only a few actual contestants.  So you wont get a lot of options for voting, unfortunately!  But it is very fortunate for one lucky bride and groom.

If you haven’t already seen the blog posts with their essays, they are located here and here.

You can only vote once per day, so get all your friends and family involved!
Voting ends at 11:59pm on August 31, 2009.  Happy voting, and good luck to all who entered! :)

Trina and Scott are perfect for each other. The way they laugh together, and the way they look at each other; you can tell it’s destiny! We had SO much fun shooting their engagement session! I had a hard time narrowing it down for some of my favorite shots!

I am so excited for their wedding in January, it’ll be here before we know it!

This is their story:

Oh where to begin…. As a student in their college years you begin to dream of that life that used to be far away, but now it is in reach. Often Trina and her girlfriends sat around and talked about their futures with much emphasis on who will help mold it. Trina described her future love as a musician with good hair. To her surprise a recently made friend Lindsey knew just the guy for her. She happened to know a musician with good hair who just happened to be a great guy. As many of you know the easiest way to communicate in college is facebook. Being the bold girl she is, she sent him a request to be her friend. The greatest foundation to a lasting relationship. After accepting her as his friend he asked a simple question: “Do I know you?” This one question began a long lasting conversation that created a strong desire in each of them to meet.

After a month of communication, their first meeting took place. Scott had planned a night out with his friends Sarah and Jeremy. This was really comfortable for Trina…just kidding. Their friendship grew over the next few weeks. They decided to go on a “real” first date. Scott, being the gentlemen he is, chose to see “Across the Universe” and to eat at Arby’s . This just happen to be Trina’s least favorite place to eat. After many written songs about the girl Scott had now fallen in love with, he decided that it was time to get his “love locked down”.

After much thought he planned a winter proposal at the home church building his dad preaches at. When Trina showed up at his house, Scott’s dad asked if they would both go get ice from the building for a dinner they were planning. To Trina’s surprise, she walked in a lit up gym with a table set for two. They sat down to eat a dinner prepared by Scott which seemed to be a nice Christmas surprise. After the meal, he then asked, “Would you like your present early?” The impatient person Trina is replied, “Well yeah.” Scott handed Trina a small black journal. This small journal was a hand-drawn storybook of their relationship (she always liked for Scott to tell her stories). She then began to read the story aloud. It went through all the many things the two were able to experience over their year together. The very last page was a cut out including two things: a beautiful diamond ring and the words, “BAM! Diamonds!” Trina, having been brought to tears, said yes to Scott.

Scott knew that he was in love with Trina when he finally figured out that she would accept him for who he is —flaws and all. He’s in love with her because he can never stay mad at her (even if he want to be). She is the only woman that has ever made Scott push myself…both intellectually and mentally. Seeing her smile is something that can totally change his attitude. She brings him surprises even if he hasn’t been easy to deal with. She talks a lot and he likes it that way.

I know that I can spend the rest of my life with her because of her sense of humor. Like the time she curtsied to a complete stranger and said “How do you do?” Or the time she reached over and honked the horn when I was driving and the lady crossing the street thought it was me.

She found a dragon dagger and bought it for him. She took Scott to Graceland and gave him the best birthday ever. She kisses his head when it hurts. She tells Scott when I’m wrong. She helps keep his eyes focused on what is really important—God.

All in all, she is the perfect woman. He would be a fool if he wasn’t in love with her. In his opinion he is a pretty lucky guy.

Trina knew that she was in love with Scott pretty much from the beginning. She found things in Scott that she had never seen in any other man. Scott was both patient and kind whenever it came to Trina’s stubborn ways. She knew that she could be with him forever whenever she realized she was much happier being wrapped in his arms, eating Taco Bell, or watching a funny movie, than she would be anywhere else. Scott has never once made fun of her for any of her many idiosyncrasies (her fear of ketchup, the fact that she is a clean freak, or her love for puppies.)

Scott has the most laid back personality. He goes out of his way to make sure she is the happiest person in the world. He does everything in his power to make sure that she never stresses or is sad. He truly is the one for her.
Scott continues to amaze Trina daily. Whether it be from his love of toys or his ability to relate to almost any kid. He truly has been the biggest blessing in her life. She can’t wait to marry him and become Mrs. Utter (Yes…a funny, yet awesome name.)

This isn’t really a music video.  It is a song though!

I have a crazy amount of love for female rock bands. Evanescence, Within Temptation, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Paramore, Fireflight and Flyleaf..and solo artists like Tarja Turunen, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Hana Pestle and Megan McCauley. Check them out! I hope you enjoy the song.

Peace and Love until next time

just a hello!

August 15, 2009

First, I’d like to mention that I’m now listed on the “Think Pink” Photography site as a volunteer photographer.  Check out the website

If you know anyone who is suffering from breast cancer (or anything, for that matter), please link them to that site and allow us to make their day, or week, or month.

Now for my blog.

This is how my morning’s work…

1. The alarm goes off, rather annoying.
2.  I have to push my hubby out of bed, or he’ll just go back to sleep.

3.  Then I watch these guys:

They play in their room and eat for a little while.  They nap a little.  Then it’s time to take them outside.

We spend a lot of time outside.  It’s peaceful, and they’re always extremely content.  They like sleeping in those swings.  It’s pretty adorable.

It also gives me time to have some coffee and hang out with Dan!

So hello!  How was your morning?  How do you suggest I should mix up mine?

Until Next time…

Peace, Love, and Rock n’ roll!

“Ohhh Living on a prayer!”

Hey everyone!

I told you it would take a while for me to write another personal blog, didn’t I?  Well, here it is.
I’ve been super busy lately…Of course, sessions keep me busy, and then during the week I watch twins, and I also have to balance time with my husband and pets.  I love my life! haha.

I have lots of personal photos since the last time I posted, and here they are…

My birthday was two weeks ago and this is the cake my wonderful hubby got me.

*excuse the quality, majority of my personal photos were taken with my cell phone this time.

A week or so ago, my hubby broke his glasses and these are his new ones.  They’re super dorky, however they are SUPER cute as well.

*this one was also taken with my phone, but a different phone.  I upgraded to a new and cute, pink smart phone.

This is Skylar, one of the twins that I babysit.  Isn’t he adorable?

Here’s another one of him.

And this is Peyton.  Isn’t he a cutie?

I also took a few of myself for my about page!  It’s more “me” then the other one, I think.

I hope I found all of you well, and until next time…Peace, love and rock n’ roll, right?

Cooper and his family are a part of my “babies first year” plan. I had the pleasure of meeting Cooper for the first time when he was just under two months old.

He has grown so much since the last time I saw him, he has a lot more hair, he’s sitting up by himself, and that giggle…His giggle has so much life and personality to it.

As proof of his constant growth, here’s a sneak peek from their session!

If this doesn’t make you smile, I honestly don’t know what will!

The story of Jaime and Ron begins with one person – Bob. Bob could be described as a mutual friend now but that wasn’t always the case. Ron and Bob have known each other for years and could definitely be considered friends. But the relationship between Bob and Jaime was much more…adversarial. See, Jaime and Bob are attorneys – on opposite sides. Jaime is a prosecutor and Bob is a defense attorney. Jaime’s job is to put people in jail; Bob’s job is to keep people out of jail. How and why they ended up becoming friends in still a mystery to themselves and everyone else in the courthouse.

Anyway, after their first trial together, Jaime and Bob decided to get some food to celebrate the conclusion of their first trial against one another. Bob invited Ron but Ron wasn’t so sure about coming – he wasn’t so sure about this thing called “Thai food.” He decided to be adventurous and try a new cuisine. When Bob went to the bathroom, Jaime and Ron started discussing their love of travel. I guess you could say that the rest is history.

Ron and Jaime dated for just six and a half months before Ron decided to “pop the question.” It was a Wednesday in mid-December and Jaime had just returned from a conference in Springfield. It was cold cold cold! Jaime got to Ron’s house and he said that he had something to show her. She hemmed and hawed. Her first question: “Is it outside?” The reply? “Yes.” Strike one. “Will I have to walk in the snow?” “Yes.” Strike two. “Can it wait until Friday?” “I don’t think so.” Uh oh. “I don’t have any shoes appropriate for walking in the snow.” “You can wear my big ole shoes.” “I don’t think so.” Ron had had enough: “Get your a** up, put on my shoes, and get into the car.” Of course, when Ron said it, it didn’t sound quite so harsh! Jaime got up, put on the shoes that wouldn’t stay on her feet, and went out to the car in the freezing cold. He took Jaime to a street lined with decorated Christmas trees. After walking through the snow looking at the beautiful trees (and dealing with what amounted to a pound of snow in her shoes), Ron asked Jaime to marry him. Her response? “Are you serious?” But of course she said yes (or…er…we wouldn’t be writing this today)!

How does Jaime know that Ron is the one? It started at their first meeting when they both expressed a love for traveling and had realized that they had been the exact same number of countries – 24! He doesn’t threaten to leave her even though she stumbles upon 16 and Pregnant on MTV and then “accidentally” misplaces the remote (oops!). When she starts singing random songs, he sings along with her even though he can’t possibly know the words (she is making them up as she goes). He cheers her on when she keeps people from improperly merging into traffic. He is a great listener and remembers every little thing (which she is worried might one day come back to bite her in the butt). Most importantly, he calms her down every time she has a freak out (which, unfortunately, is much too often).

How does Ron know that Jaime is the one? Along with the same number of countries traveled to, they also have the same travel philosophy – plan out the major details and wing the rest. Jaime and Ron both sneeze when first exposed to the sun, a semi-rare trait known as photic sneeze reflex. When Jaime’s not singing, Ron will start beat-boxing and Jaime joins in without skipping a beat (pun-intended). She gladly puts on a blanket whenever he blasts the air conditioning. He knew she was truly the one after an extended weekend together ended with a day apart and Ron literally felt hungover, as if he was on cloud nine around her and was coming down from that high. She complements him in every way possible, and is the perfect yin to his yang.

This is a small sneak peek from my first boudoir session:
