Happy Wednesday!
I think I’ve been teasing everyone about this contest for long enough, I’ve decided to just go for it and announce a huge contest Amber Rhodes-Lapoint Photography will be running now through August 3, my birthday! It’s super huge because I am giving away a free wedding package to one lucky bride and groom. Please share this with anyone you know who is getting married!
Basically, contact me and schedule your engagement session. My session fee will be at a low-low $99 for the engagement session for a brief time. After our session I will post my favorite photo on here, and all of YOU will vote for your favorites!
I am also looking for some laughs and that means I want your best TRUE story about how you met your fiance, how you became engaged, or when you knew for sure you’d met “the one”. The better the story and the more I laugh the more points you score. After your engagement session, I will also post your stories for everyone to read and comment on. The story with the highest score from me and my hubby, and the session photo with the most votes will receive the contest prizes!
We (Amber and Dan) will be judging entries as they come in. We will each have up to 10 points to award. Entries should be emailed to amber@ambertakesphotos.com by August 3 . We will post stories throughout the month so even if you don’t share a story check back often for some good laughs.

I am a single mother of a now 10 year odl Shirley Temple Look-a-like. My daughter is old enough to concern herself over my being single. I began dating around with no luck. Then one day I noticed an ad for http://www.plentyoffish.com and gasped at the thought but went ahead and took a chance. Of all things, this is where I met Michael. Most importantly take into consideration he was 20 and I was 29. I was very hesitant. After talking via IM for over 12 hours one day, we decided to meet at a park. It was bittersweet when we met and everything clicked. I am so clumsy the entire time we were at the park I was trying to avoid tripping, and I would stand a certain way to look more slim. I was scared I was going to trip and fall on my face. HA! Michael confessed while I was trying to hide my curves he was taking every glimpse he could. HAHA. That day we went for a walk and my daughter went as well. After the park, things went smoothly and we bonded quickly. The sweetest moment was my daughter confiding in me that she had been praying for a Daddy and that she felt in her heart Michael was an answer to her prayer. Now, we have been together over a year and Michael proposed on easter. My daughter began jumping up and down with glee smiling from ear to ear that she was getting a Daddy. It MELTED my heart as it did his. He is now 21, and he proudly tells coworkers etc of his daughter. The daughter he never had to be a father to, but chose to. The daughter that embraced him warmly with all the hope in her heart. Here I am, the one who is the most shocked by how everything has merged so smoothly. The man I never thought I would meet, and the famiy I never thought I would have and be able to give my dughter. God saved the best for last for sure. It was meant to be, and age is but a number. I’m still as clumsy, but no longer fear hiding my curves. =)
