Ariel is kind of shy. But I think we hit it off fairly well! I had so much fun getting to know Ariel yesterday evening. We talked about music, movies, and all sorts of trivial things. I’m so excited to see her graduate and move on to bigger and better things.

This Sunday I’m going to post three videos, because I honestly couldn’t choose which one I wanted to post more. One is a fairly popular artist, Lacuna Coil. The other two are indie(independent, not with a major label) artists, really.
We are the Fallen are made up of Ben Moody, one of two original members of Evanescence. John Lecompt and Rocky Gray from Evanescence, Machina, Living Sacrifice, etc. are also in this band. The vocals consist of American Idol finalist, Carly Smithson. They rock, and you should really check them out. Check out the forum, most of the members of the band post on there and chat. It’s pretty awesome.
My third and final video is Hana Pestle’s song “Need”. Hana is a fairly new artist, who is signed under Ben Moody’s label. She’s been campaigning for her song “Need” to be on the New Moon soundtrack. So please, if you like this song, add her on myspace and show some support! She is extremely down to earth and friendly, and she has some pipes!

It’s been a busy weekend. Friday I met with Kayla, my brother’s girlfriend, for her senior photo session.
We went to Bemis, TN, found some old abandoned buildings, and had a lot of fun!

I think I’ve been teasing everyone about this contest for long enough, I’ve decided to just go for it and announce a huge contest Amber Rhodes-Lapoint Photography will be running now through August 3, my birthday! It’s super huge because I am giving away a free wedding package to one lucky bride and groom. Please share this with anyone you know who is getting married!
Basically, contact me and schedule your engagement session. My session fee will be at a low-low $99 for the engagement session for a brief time. After our session I will post my favorite photo on here, and all of YOU will vote for your favorites!
I am also looking for some laughs and that means I want your best TRUE story about how you met your fiance, how you became engaged, or when you knew for sure you’d met “the one”. The better the story and the more I laugh the more points you score. After your engagement session, I will also post your stories for everyone to read and comment on. The story with the highest score from me and my hubby, and the session photo with the most votes will receive the contest prizes!
We (Amber and Dan) will be judging entries as they come in. We will each have up to 10 points to award. Entries should be emailed to amber@ambertakesphotos.com by August 3 . We will post stories throughout the month so even if you don’t share a story check back often for some good laughs.

1. All entries must be true and must be your story! Keep it clean too please. Your submission gives us permission to post your story on our blog or other locations. If we choose to post your story we will credit you for it.
2. All entries and engagement sessions must be booked and received by midnight on August 3rd. Please be sure to include your name, phone number, email address and wedding date.
3. Contest is for new clients only, sorry to all of my current clients, I love you too!
4. All prizes are awarded based on photographers availability.
5. Grand Prize is for unlimited wedding day photography only. All other additions will be billed at full price.

I know you probably get so tired of seeing my little angels, but really, who can resist?!
Skylar and Peyton are my 5 month old half-brothers, and they are absolutely irresistibly cute. Skylar is mister serious, and Peyton is our little clown.

Friday I had the pleasure of meeting with Season, Trae and their family. We hung out and got to know each other for a couple of hours while I followed them around and let them spend some good quality family time with each other.
William and Brantley were absolute gentlemen, and I really enjoyed getting to know them as well!
